Overview

A2K-BULK-100M-MID Mid Bulk Cable Reel
Create or extend an NMEA 2000 backbone of flexible lengths to suit any installation. Enhanced safety with Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) jacket.
The Actisense NMEA 2000 Mid cable is available in 100 metre reels and ideal for use with the Actisense QNB-1 (Quick Network Block) or Field Fit Connectors (FFC).

NMEA 2000 cable includes five wire within a single waterproof cable: power and ground wires, two signal (data) wires and a drain wire. The drain wire connects to the cable shield which protects the signal, power and ground wires from external Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) and helps reduce RFI emission from the cable.

NMEA 2000 Mid cable can be used to create a backbone up to 250 metres in length. To enhance connectivity, this cable is compatible with our range of NMEA 2000 field fit connectors.

The maximum permitted length of a drop cable (distance from the backbone) is 6 metres. It is important to limit each drop length to the minimum required as the total of all drop lengths must not exceed 72 metres. To help with this limitation, Actisense have drop cable assemblies in varying lengths from 0.25 metres to 6 metres.

The Actisense range of NMEA 2000 connectors and cables has been designed using our specialist interconnect and NMEA knowledge.

Low Smoke Zero Halogen

This cable has been designed to feature a Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) cable jacket material to minimize the release of harmful smoke and toxic gases if burned.

When burned, LSZH materials produce significantly less smoke compared to traditional materials like PVC. LSZH cables do not contain halogens (like chlorine, bromine, fluorine, or iodine) in their composition. These halogens can release toxic and corrosive gases when burned, contributing to the severity of fires.

Benefits:

Reduced Toxic Fumes:
LSZH cables significantly reduce the amount of toxic and corrosive gases released during a fire, making them safer for occupants and first responders.

Enhanced Visibility:
The low smoke output of LSZH cables improves visibility in a fire, aiding in evacuation and firefighting efforts.

Environmental Friendliness:
LSZH cables are considered more environmentally friendly due to the absence of halogenated compounds, which can be harmful to the environment.
